  • The listserv will also be used by the OSNPPH Executive to communicate with the membership, make requests, and receive member feedback on key provincial issues requiring a cooperative response and position.

Access to the OSNPPH listservs:

  • Only OSNPPH members have access to the listserv(s). Each OSNPPH member can choose to receive listserv emails or not.

If you wish to thank the member for asking the question or if you would like more information from the member who initially sent the post or email do not reply. Instead, send a new email to the individual who made the initial post.

Frequently Asked Q and A’s:

1. A non-OSNPPH member dietitian in my health unit wants me to ask a question to the listserv.  Can email responses be sent directly to this colleague?

  • Only current OSNPPH members can use the listserv(s).
  • Encourage your colleague to join OSNPPH. Learn about the many benefits of membership here.

2. I have a dietetic intern working with me. How are dietetic interns able to use the listserv?

  • Only OSNPPH members have access to the listserv. Dietetic interns are currently not eligible for membership.
  • However, an OSNPPH member can provide context to the request and may send the request to the listserv.
  • Responses from the listserv request should be emailed to the OSNPPH member, not the dietetic intern. At this point, the dietetic intern may follow up individually with OSNPPH members.
  • Results from the information collected will be collated and shared with OSNPPH membership through the listserv.

3. How do I know when to send an email to the entire OSNPPH listserv or to a specific work group listserv…FHNAG, HERS, CCWG, M2K, School Nutrition, FLitWG?

  • If your question is specific to a workgroup topic, send it to the specific workgroup. For example if you have a questions about infant nutrition, send to the FHNAG listserv.

  • If your question is related to a more broad Public Health Nutrition issue or there is no specific workgroup listserv then send to the OSNPPH listserv.

4. I want to collect information from other health units, how should I ask via the OSNPPH listserv?

  • Provide some background information and explain why you are collecting information from other health units.
  • Identify who is collecting this information. Remember only OSNPPH members can collect information via the listserv.
  • Explain what information you need and how it will be used.
  • Collate and share results from the request.

5. A nurse/health promoter/family home visitor in my health unit has a question.  I want to get feedback from the larger OSNPPH group.

  • Only OSNPPH members have access to the listserv. Other public health professionals are not eligible for membership.
  • However, an OSNPPH member can provide context to the request and may send the request to the listserv.
  • Responses from the listserv request should be emailed to the OSNPPH member, not the nurse/health promoter/family home visitor.
  • Collate and share results from the request.

6. How do I change my listserv settings?
