The child care nutrition resources found here were created to support child care providers in planning and preparing healthy food for children in their care. They reflect current best practices for creating supportive nutrition environments in the child care setting and will help providers meet the food and drink requirements set out in the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (section 42 of Ont. Reg. 137/15).

These resources were developed by registered dietitians who are members of the Child Care Workgroup (CCWG) of Ontario Society of Nutrition Professionals in Public Health. Public Health professionals, provincial licensing agents, municipal managers, child care supervisors, cooks, front line staff and licensed home child care providers can use these resources to assist in menu planning and creating supportive nutrition environments in their setting.
