The Ontario Society of Nutrition Professionals in Public Health (OSNPPH) received its charter in 1977. We are the independent and official voice of Registered Dietitians working in the Ontario public health system.
Our Vision
We envision a health system that recognizes and values OSNPPH members as leaders in public health nutrition.
Our Mission
We advocate and respond in order to advance the public health nutrition agenda. OSNPPH facilitates connections and provides supports among members in order to enhance their individual and collective effectiveness.
Our Values
OSNPPH members are Registered Dietitians (RDs) and members of the College of Dietitians of Ontario. All members work in the public health sector, or universities with community nutrition programs.
Our Members are experts in human nutrition who focus on improving health and preventing disease. With community health partners, they raise awareness about healthy eating at every stage of life. They plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and skill building nutrition programs. Public Health nutrition professionals also advocate for and provide support for creating healthier eating environments in addition to becoming involved in public health nutrition monitoring and surveillance, research and the education of future dietitians.
OSNPPH Executive Committee is comprised of 11 positions:
